The Guthrie CSD & King Co. Cons. Library is located in Guthrie Texas inside the Guthrie school building, on the east side, north corner, through the double door entrance and is next to the school auditorium.  The Guthrie CSD & King Co. Cons. Library provides free services to all residents living within the state of Texas.

Mission Statement:

It is the mission of Guthrie CSD & King County Library to provide patrons with the means to gain information and knowledge in a helpful, caring atmosphere.  The Library attempts to select, preserve, and make available materials in a variety of formats for the informational, educational, recreational, and cultural needs in an efficient and effective manner.

Guthrie CSD & King Co. Consolidated Library is both a public and school facility. 

Library Objectives

1. To assemble, preserve and administer, in organized collections, books and related educational and recreational material in order to promote, through guidance and stimulation, the communication of ideas to enlighten citizenship and enrich personal lives.

2.  To serve the community as a center of reliable information.

3.  To provide a place where inquiring minds may encounter the original, sometimes unorthodox, and critical ideas so necessary as correctives and stimulants in a society that depends for its survival on free competition in ideas.

4.  To support educational, civic, and cultural activities of groups and organizations.

5.  To provide opportunity and encouragement for children, young people, men and women to educate themselves continuously.

6.  To seek continually to identify community needs to provide programs of service to meet such needs, and to cooperated with other organizations, agencies, and institutions that can provide programs or service to meet community needs.

7.  To provide opportunity for recreation through the use of literature, films, videos, and other art forms.
